Banks should assist industrialists in securing loans: MP Bommai

Banks should take appropriate measures and provide guidance in providing loans to various industrialists, including small industries. If loans are provided in an adequate amount in the industrial sector, this will lead to the development of industries in the district and more job opportunities will be available for the youth, said former Chief Minister and MP of the state Basavaraj Bommai. He spoke while presiding over the Lead Bank (DCC and DLRC) Advisory Committee meeting and progress review meeting at the Zilla Panchayat Hall of the city on Thursday.
Banks play an important role in the economic and social development of the district. If banks perform their duties in a people-friendly manner, it will help the district develop quickly. He said that if any problems are encountered in the process of providing loans to various industrial enterprises, including small industries, appropriate action should be taken after discussing with the district administration and various departments.
If the financial facilities of various pro-people schemes implemented by the government are provided through banks within the specified time frame, it will be of great benefit to the beneficiaries. He said that proper guidance and cooperation of banks is necessary for the poor and farmers.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S Bharat said that if any problems arise in lending to the bank related to various schemes, it should be brought to the attention of the district administration and department officials.
On this occasion, the Annual Action Plan / District Credit Plan manual for the year 2025-26 was released.

Lead Bank Manager MV Santosh said that 182 branches of Lead Bank are functioning in the district. By the end of June 2025, the loan-deposit ratio in the district will be 98.16 percent. He said that the regulators of all banks have directed the branches to improve the loan-deposit ratio.
