BALLARI
The district is preparing for a state-level progress review meeting scheduled in Bengaluru on May 21 and 22, to be chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. In preparation, Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Mishra reviewed the progress of various departments and stressed the need for comprehensive updates on multiple projects initiated across the district. He instructed officials to ensure all information is readily available for the meeting with the Chief Minister and Zilla Panchayat CEO.
Departments were directed to collect detailed data on drinking water management in urban and rural areas, including regular water testing and chlorination processes. Agricultural statistics such as sowing areas, fertiliser distribution, stock availability, and farmer crop insurance registrations must also be compiled.
Additionally, updates are required on the beneficiaries and implementation progress of the ‘Ganga Kalyana’ scheme. The Deputy Commissioner directed DUDC officials to fast-track the completion of pending Indira Canteens and to provide status reports on the installation and maintenance of CCTV systems at taluk-level canteens.
Officers were asked to submit progress reports on key government schemes like Shakti, Anna Bhagya, Gruhalakshmi, Gruha Jyoti, and Yuvanidhi, highlighting any challenges or delays faced during implementation. Officials must accurately record all information in the prescribed format and submit the final progress report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office within a week.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Zubair, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department Mallikarjun, Agriculture Department Joint Director Somasunder, Zilla Panchayat Project Officer Vinod, DUDC Project Officer Raghavendra, and other senior district officials.
