5,140 Mobile Phones Worth Rs 3 Crore Stolen, 7 Accused Arrested

The police have arrested 7 accused and seized  mobile phones stolen   worth Rs 3 crores being transported in a container from Noida to Bengaluru. Imran, Mohammed Mustafa, Bhurra, Anoop Roy, Abhijit Paul, Sakrilla, Yusaf Khan have been arrested.

The driver went missing on November 22, 2024, after abandoning the container vehicle near HP Dhaba near Reddigollarahalli. Earlier, the driver along with his accomplices had stolen 5,140 Xiaomi mobile phones worth Rs 3 crore from the container. The Manager of Safe Seed Courier Limited, Padmanabha, had registered a theft case at the Peresandra police station in connection with the theft, the police said.

 

In connection with the case, Peresandra Police Inspector Nayaz Baig had arrested container driver Rahul on December 10, 2024. The case was transferred to the Chikkaballapur Cyber ​​Police Station for further investigation. The investigation was expedited and the investigation team led by DySP KY Ravikumar and Inspector Surya Prakash arrested 7 accused and seized the truck used to transport the stolen mobile phones.

The accused have sold 300 to 400 mobile phones in each state, and the mobile phones are being blocked based on the IMEI number.

District Superintendent of Police Kushal Chouksi said, the accused have sold mobile phones worth crores for Rs 90 lakh to 95 lakh. The accused have shared this money. We are trying to recover this money. Our team has been successful in arresting the accused in the theft case of these mobile phones.
