In a heart-breaking incident in Byadarahalli, Bengaluru, a 13-year-old boy named Dhruv has taken his own life, reportedly due to excessive use of his mobile phone. The incident took place in the Ratnagar area when Dhruv hanged himself in the presence of his 9-year-old sister, who was oblivious to what was happening.
Police investigations revealed that Dhruv often disregarded his family's requests to reduce his mobile phone usage. On Tuesday, while their parents were at work, Dhruv and his sister were at home after school. It was during this time that Dhruv attempted to hang himself from the ceiling fan using his belt. The tragic event occurred around 7 PM, when the belt tightened around his neck and he fell to the ground.
His sister, unaware of what her brother was doing, simply watched. When Dhruv fell, their mother returned home from work and was met with the shocking sight. In panic, she called for help from neighbors and rushed Dhruv to the hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
This deeply saddening incident raises concerns about the impact of excessive screen time on children and highlights the importance of monitoring their mental health and online activities. The community is left in shock and mourning the loss of such a young life.
