Defending champions India showcased their dominance in the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup by defeating host Malaysia by 10 wickets, marking their second consecutive win in Group A on Tuesday.

After winning the toss, India opted to bowl, leveraging the overcast conditions. Vaishnavi Sharma delivered a sensational performance, taking a hat-trick and finishing with impressive figures of 5-5. Her stellar effort bowled out Malaysia for a paltry 31 runs in 14.3 overs, earning her the Player of the Match title.

Chasing the modest target, Indian openers G Trisha (27 not out) and Kamalini G (4 not out) sealed the victory in just three overs without losing a wicket.

The match began with seamer Joshitha VJ trapping Malaysia’s opener Nuni leg-before for a duck. A run-out off a no-ball dismissed Nur Aliya, and Aayushi Shukla’s double strike in the fifth over left Malaysia reeling at four wickets down for less than 15 runs. Vaishnavi’s left-arm spin then dismantled the batting lineup, dismissing skipper Nur Dania Syuhada (1) and Nuriman (2), before achieving her hat-trick in the final over.

India had earlier started their title defense with a commanding nine-wicket win over the West Indies, continuing their impressive campaign.
