India’s Shubhankar Sharma failed to maintain his strong start and missed the cut at the Hainan Classic golf tournament. After an opening round of 69, Sharma shot a 3-over 75 in the second round, leaving him at even par for the two days.

Sharma’s second-round performance included four bogeys and just one birdie, on the third hole. As play was suspended due to darkness, Sharma’s fate was uncertain, but he ultimately missed the cut when play resumed.

This year, Sharma has struggled, failing to make the cut in his first four events before finding form and making the cut in the next four tournaments, including the Hero Indian Open. However, his fortunes took another dip as he missed the cut last week at the Volvo China Open.

Sean Crocker leads the tournament at nine-under, with Elvis Smylie in second place at eight-under.
