Rohit, Kohli keep top BCCI contracts
Mumbai
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have kept their top-grade A+ BCCI contracts for the 2024-25 season. This comes even after both players retired from T20 Internationals. The A+ contract earns players ₹7 crore per year, along with match fees and other bonuses. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who also stepped away from T20Is, remain in the A+ category.
Rishabh Pant has been promoted to Grade A after returning from injury. He takes the spot of Ravichandran Ashwin, who has retired from all formats of international cricket. Other Grade A players include Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami.
Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have made a return to the contract list. Iyer is now in Grade B, while Kishan is in Grade C. They had missed out last year due to skipping domestic cricket matches.
Seven new names have been added to the Grade C list, including Sarfaraz Khan, Abhishek Sharma, and Dhruv Jurel. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube, KS Bharath, Jitesh Sharma, and Avesh Khan have been removed from the list this year.
The BCCI has awarded contracts to a total of 34 players for the playing period between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025. The list is divided into four grades: A+, A, B, and C.
