Rani Rampal urges making yoga a daily habit
New Delhi
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, former Indian women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal encouraged everyone to embrace yoga as part of their daily routine. Speaking to the media, Rampal extended her best wishes, stating that yoga plays a key role in personal well-being. Athlete Priyanka Goswami also supported this message, revealing that she practices yoga and meditation regularly and believes it is everyone’s responsibility to stay fit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who led celebrations at the 11th International Yoga Day event held along the scenic Visakhapatnam coastline, called on the global community to make yoga a shared responsibility. Addressing thousands of citizens and dignitaries gathered for the occasion, PM Modi urged countries to embrace yoga not just as a personal practice but as a collective commitment toward health, inner peace, and global unity. Ships of the Indian Navy moored nearby added grandeur to the event.
He stressed that yoga goes beyond personal wellness, teaching humanity to live in harmony with nature and society. Yoga takes us from ‘Me’ to ‘We’, he said, underlining its capacity to bring people closer to each other and to the planet. PM Modi further explained that yoga began as a practice for individual health but gradually shapes one’s connection with society and the environment.
First recognized by the United Nations in 2014, International Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide every June 21, symbolizing yoga’s transformative power in creating a healthier, more united world.
