Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw has applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), signaling his intention to leave Mumbai and play for another state in the upcoming 2025–26 domestic season.

Confirming the development, MCA Secretary Abhay Hadap said the final decision would be made by the Apex Council by Monday evening. In his application, Shaw stated that the move was aimed at furthering his growth in professional cricket and thanked MCA for its support over the years.

Shaw, who led India to the U19 World Cup title in 2018, has had a mixed domestic run. He was dropped from the Mumbai Ranji team last season due to form and fitness issues but returned for their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy win, scoring 197 runs in nine matches. However, he wasn’t picked for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The 25-year-old was also released by Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024 and went unsold in the 2025 mega auction. It’s still unclear which team he may join next, as official confirmation is awaited.
