Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to face Gujarat Titans (GT) in a crucial IPL 2025 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium today (Saturday). Both teams are yet to register a win after opening-game losses, making this an important contest.

A major boost for MI is the return of skipper Hardik Pandya, who missed their first match against Chennai Super Kings due to an over-rate suspension from IPL 2024. Without him, Mumbai struggled with the bat, managing only 155/9, leading to a four-wicket defeat. Pandya’s return strengthens the middle order and provides an additional bowling option.

However, MI will continue to miss star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, sidelined with a back injury. This puts pressure on Mohammed Siraj and Trent Boult to lead the bowling attack. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav will also need to step up after a lackluster first match.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans, captained by Shubman Gill, are also looking to recover from their opening loss to Punjab Kings, where they fell 11 runs short chasing a mammoth 244. Their bowling attack, led by Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan, needs to find consistency, especially with an inexperienced Indian pace unit.

Ahmedabad’s pitch has proven to be batting-friendly, as seen in the high-scoring GT-PBKS encounter. Another run-fest is expected, increasing the pressure on bowlers to deliver. With both teams eager for their first win, a thrilling contest is on the cards.
