Norris vs Piastri title ‘coin toss’: McLaren CEO
New Delhi
The 2025 Formula 1 season is heating up, with McLaren teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris locked in a tight title race. McLaren CEO Zak Brown says the championship fight is so close, it could go either way each weekend.
Piastri leads Norris by just 16 points after his big win in Belgium. McLaren has won 10 of 13 races so far, many as one-two finishes. Brown praised both drivers but said there’s “very little” between them. “It’s a coin toss every weekend,” he told Sky Sports.
Brown also praised Piastri’s calm but aggressive driving style, calling him a “machine.” However, he warned it’s too soon to count out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who is 81 points behind Piastri.
McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella agreed the title will come down to small details. He said both drivers will get equal support and the championship will be decided by “accuracy, precision, and execution.”
Piastri and Norris, teammates since 2023, remain respectful rivals with close qualifying stats this season.
