Paris Saint-Germain’s dream of an unbeaten Ligue 1 season ended after a 3-1 loss to Nice at Parc des Princes on Saturday. Despite winning the league earlier this month, PSG’s 30-match unbeaten run was stopped. They still lead the table with 78 points, while Nice moved up to fourth with 54 points, improving their Champions League hopes.

PSG dominated the first half-hour but fell behind when Morgan Sanson scored in the 35th minute. Fabian Ruiz quickly equalized with a superb half-volley. However, Nice struck again just 22 seconds into the second half, with Sanson scoring his second goal.

Nice’s clinical finishing continued when Youssouf Ndayishimiye headed in a free kick in the 70th minute to make it 3-1. Despite PSG having 75 per cent possession and many chances, they failed to capitalize due to poor finishing and brilliant goalkeeping by Marcin Bulka.

Bulka made stunning saves late in the match, stopping shots from Goncalo Ramos and Vitinha, and celebrated his efforts passionately. PSG pressed hard in stoppage time but could not break through.

Coach Luis Enrique, focusing on Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final against Arsenal, remained calm after the loss. He praised his team’s attacking play and congratulated Nice for their strong defense.

“We attacked in many ways, they defended well. We want to play the same way against Arsenal and create many chances,” Enrique told DAZN after the match.

The loss may hurt PSG’s pride, but their main focus now shifts to Europe’s biggest competition, where greater challenges await them.
