India is set to witness a historic sporting event as the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 kicks off on Saturday at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. This is the country’s first-ever international javelin tournament, named after India’s Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra.

The event is organized by Neeraj Chopra and JSW Sports, with approval from the Athletics Federation of India. It holds World Athletics Gold status, showing India’s growing strength in global athletics. The competition celebrates Neeraj Chopra’s achievements and inspires young Indian athletes to dream big.

The international line-up features big names. Germany’s Thomas Rohler, the 2016 Olympic champion, has a personal best of 93.90m. Kenya’s Julius Yego, a world champion and Olympic silver medallist, is also competing. Other stars include Curtis Thompson from the USA, Martin Konecny from Czech Republic, Luiz Mauricio Da Silva from Brazil, Rumesh Pathirage from Sri Lanka, and Poland’s Cyprian Mrzyglod.

The Indian team will be led by Neeraj Chopra himself, whose best throw is 90.23m. Other Indian athletes include Sachin Yadav (best 85.16m), Rohit Yadav (83.40m), Sahil Silwal (81.81m), and Yashvir Singh (82.57m). All these athletes have shown strong results in national and international competitions recently.

The event is not just a competition but a big push for Indian athletics, placing the nation firmly on the world sports map. Young fans and future athletes will look up to these stars and dream of bringing more glory to India.
