Miran Maricic praises India’s new Shooting League
New Delhi
Croatian shooter Miran Maricic has expressed excitement about joining the first-ever Shooting League of India (SLI), calling it both "competitive and inspiring." The league, created by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), will launch later this year and feature top athletes from around the world.
Maricic said he is “honoured to be invited” and believes the tournament will bring out the best in every participant. “It’s a great chance to grow as an athlete,” he said, adding that the high level of competition will offer valuable lessons to all involved.
He also highlighted the league's importance for young shooters. Watching and learning from international stars, he said, will help youngsters gain motivation and experience.
Maricic praised Indian fans, saying their strong support can help promote shooting to a larger audience. With wide viewership expected in stadiums and on TV, he hopes the league will give the sport more popularity.
The event will include mixed team competitions in pistol, rifle, and shotgun categories, following NRAI guidelines.
