Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz has risen to the second spot in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings, achieving his career-best position. His stellar performance in the recent Test series against Zimbabwe, where he scored 116 runs and took 15 wickets, propelled him to 327 rating points, surpassing South Africa’s Marco Jansen. The top spot is still held by India’s Ravindra Jadeja with 400 points.

Mehidy played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s victory in the second Test against Zimbabwe in Chattogram. Coming in at No. 7, he scored a vital century and followed it up with a five-wicket haul, leading his team to success. His remarkable performance earned him both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.

In addition to his all-rounder ranking, Mehidy has also reached a career-best 55th position in the batting rankings, gaining eight spots. His five-wicket haul in the second innings improved his bowling ranking, lifting him to 24th place.

Other Bangladesh players have also made significant strides. Shadman Islam’s first-innings century helped him rise 17 spots to 60th in the batting rankings. Taijul Islam, with nine wickets in the match, is now ranked 16th among bowlers. Nayeem Hasan has also made progress, moving up to 54th.

Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams and Ben Curran have also made improvements in the rankings.
