Star shooter Manu Bhaker will lead a strong 35-member Indian team at the 16th Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, from August 16 to 30. Bhaker is the only shooter chosen for two individual events — the women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) announced this big squad on Monday. Famous shooters like Esha Singh, Mehuli Ghosh, and Kiran Ankush Jadhav will also take part in both senior squads.

Other top shooters include former world champion Rudrankksh Patil, Olympians Anjum Moudgil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Saurabh Chaudhary, and Kynan Chenai. The team will compete in 15 events, including three mixed team competitions.

The NRAI also named teams for other big events. The Junior World Cup will happen in India in September and October, and the Junior Asian Championships will run alongside the senior events. The senior team for the ISSF World Cup in Ningbo, China, scheduled from September 7 to 15, was also announced.

Olympic bronze medallist Swapnil Kusale and champion shooter Rahi Sarnobat are in the Ningbo squad. Olympian Raiza Dhillon joins the senior squad instead of competing in the junior Asian Championships. She will be in the junior women’s skeet team for the Delhi World Cup, replacing Mansi Raghuvanshi.

With these strong line-ups, India hopes to win many medals and show its strength in shooting sports across Asia and the world. All eyes will be on Manu Bhaker and her teammates as they aim for glory and make the nation proud.
