Manchester City have signed Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on a five-year contract. The 26-year-old joins after two strong seasons in Italy and was named Serie A’s Best Midfielder for the 2024/25 season.

Reijnders scored 15 goals in 54 games last season, showing his attacking ability and improvement. He can play in both attacking and defensive roles and is known for his energy and calm presence on the field.

“I am very happy to sign for Manchester City. The club has great players, top facilities, and the best coach in the world. I want to help the team win more trophies,” Reijnders said. “It’s a dream to play in the Premier League, where many Dutch players have done well. I can’t wait to get started and meet the fans.”

Reijnders started his professional career at PEC Zwolle before moving to AZ Alkmaar, where he made a big impact starting in the 2020/21 season. He joined AC Milan in 2023 and grew quickly into a key player.

Internationally, he debuted for the Netherlands in 2023 and played all six matches at Euro 2024, helping his team reach the semi-finals.

He will now be available for Manchester City at the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA this summer.

City’s Director of Football, Hugo Viana, welcomed the signing. “Tijjani brings energy, control, and creativity to our midfield. With Pep and our coaching team, we believe he will continue to grow and help the team succeed.”
