Indian tennis prodigy Manas Dhamne clinched his maiden ITF singles title on Sunday, defeating Italy’s Lorenzo Carboni 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 in the M15 tournament final in Monastir, Tunisia.

The 17-year-old, who trains under renowned coach Riccardo Piatti in Italy, showcased resilience after losing the first set. Carboni, a junior French Open semifinalist, struggled to contain Dhamne’s aggressive comeback.

Entering as a qualifier, Dhamne won eight consecutive matches in as many days to claim the title. Notably, Monastir was also the site of his first-ever Men’s Future event in 2022, the year he turned professional.

This victory marks his fourth consecutive M15 tournament where he has reached the main draw. Dhamne first gained attention at the 2023 Tata Open Maharashtra, where he received a wildcard entry at just 15. Although he lost to American Michael Mmoh, his performance hinted at his potential.

With this breakthrough title, Dhamne continues to establish himself as a rising star in Indian tennis.
