Mahaveer Raghunathan to race in Italy’s GT C’ship
New Delhi
Mahaveer Raghunathan, a racing talent from Chennai, will proudly represent India in the 2025 Italian Gran Turismo Championship. He will race in the Pro-Am category, teaming up with Italian driver Lorenzo Ferrari in the Ferrari 296 GT3 (Car No. 51) for all eight rounds. For the endurance races, Riccardo Ponzio will join them.
Racing with AF Corse, one of Ferrari’s most successful GT teams, Mahaveer is part of a powerful lineup this season. The team will compete with four cars in the Endurance Cup and one in the Sprint Cup. With the number of competitors rising from 30 to 36, and seasoned drivers from global championships joining the grid, the level of competition is expected to be intense.
As the only Indian on this year’s grid, Mahaveer is determined to make his mark. “I’m really excited to join AF Corse,” he said. “It’s an honour to drive the Ferrari 296 GT3 with such a talented teammate… I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.”
AF Corse will also field other cars in Am and Pro-Am classes with experienced international drivers, further raising the stakes in this prestigious European racing series.
