Lovlina Borgohain launches Boxing Academy soon
Guwahati
Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain is ready to start a new chapter in her boxing journey. She will launch the Lovlina Boxing Academy in Guwahati on June 3 to train future boxing stars.
The academy's opening ceremony will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Lovlina herself. It aims to support young talents, especially from Assam, by offering top-class training and infrastructure.
“This academy is not just a training place—it’s my dream come true,” Lovlina shared. “I want to give every boy and girl with a dream the right support to succeed in boxing and in life.”
Lovlina, who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, wants the academy to build a strong foundation for young athletes. Her initiative is expected to improve sports development in Northeast India and inspire more youth to take up boxing.
Although she did not win a medal in Paris 2024, Lovlina remains focused on her goals. She is setting her sights on competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. “I gave my best in Paris and have no regrets. I have learned valuable lessons and hope to be wiser in LA,” she told SAI Media.
The Lovlina Boxing Academy is not only a step forward for Indian boxing but also a promise of hope and opportunity for many future champions from Assam and beyond.
