West Indies pacer Kemar Roach will rejoin Surrey for the first four matches of the County Championship as the club looks to defend their title. Roach will be available for the games against Essex, Hampshire, Sussex, and Somerset, marking his fifth consecutive season with the team.

The 36-year-old, known for his skill with the red ball, will be an important part of Surrey’s campaign. He is set to join the squad ahead of the season opener at Chelmsford and will stay through April. Roach has taken 93 wickets in 28 first-class appearances for Surrey, including a career-best 8-40 against Hampshire in 2021. In recognition of his contributions, Roach was awarded a Surrey cap in May 2023.

Last season, Roach played a key role in Surrey’s 23rd County Championship title, claiming 20 wickets. His standout performance was a match-winning 6/46 against Warwickshire at home.

A seasoned Test cricketer with 284 wickets for the West Indies, Roach also boasts 566 First-Class wickets in his career. Reflecting on his return, Roach said, "The Kia Oval is my second home, and I'm excited to contribute to more success for Surrey."

Surrey's High Performance Cricket Advisor, Alec Stewart, praised Roach’s influence on the team. "Kemar’s quality, work ethic, and commitment are invaluable. We’re looking forward to having him back and confident he’ll play an important role again this season."
