Brentford FC have officially appointed Keith Andrews as their new head coach, following the departure of Thomas Frank to Tottenham Hotspur. The 44-year-old takes charge after serving on Brentford’s first-team coaching staff since July 2024. Frank’s exit also saw assistant coach Justin Cochrane, head of athletic performance Chris Haslam, and analyst Joe Newton depart the club.

Andrews expressed his gratitude at the appointment, saying, “Humbled would be the overriding feeling. I’m honoured to be chosen to lead this brilliant football club into its next chapter. There’s so much potential in the players, staff, and the club itself. I feel ready and capable of taking on this responsibility.”

Before his tenure at Brentford, Andrews worked as a set-piece coach at Sheffield United and served as assistant manager to Stephen Kenny with the Republic of Ireland national team from 2020 to 2023. He also held an assistant coaching role with MK Dons during their 2015–16 Championship season. A former midfielder, Andrews had a 16-year playing career, representing clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers, MK Dons, and Blackburn Rovers. He earned 35 caps for the Republic of Ireland and featured in UEFA Euro 2012.

Brentford’s Director of Football, Phil Giles, praised Andrews’ character and credentials: “Keith is a very good person with values that align with our culture. He’s open, eager to learn, and has experience across many areas of the game. He’s well qualified to lead the team.” Andrews now begins his first full managerial role, aiming to continue Brentford’s upward trajectory in English football.
