Indian hurdler Jyothi Yarraji has announced she will pause her 2025 season after hurting her knee during training. The 25-year-old shared on Instagram that she is working closely with her medical team to decide the best path for recovery. Jyothi said injuries are a part of an athlete’s life and called this setback just another hurdle she will overcome. She thanked her fans for their support and promised to return stronger.

Jyothi started 2025 strongly, breaking her own 60m indoor hurdles record in France. She also won gold medals in hurdles and the 200m race at the National Games in Uttarakhand. In May, she set a new national record of 12.96 seconds in the women's 100m hurdles at the Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea. Last month, she grabbed gold in Taiwan, clocking 12.99 seconds at the Taipei Municipal Stadium. Her all-time best record remains 12.78 seconds.

This is her second injury this year. In April, just before the Federation Cup in Kochi, she hurt her hamstring and missed important training. Despite that, she still won in Kochi with a time of 13.23 seconds.

Her recent knee injury raises concerns as she has not yet qualified for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September. Fans and experts now await updates on her recovery and whether she can make it back in time to compete at the world stage. All eyes are on her comeback plans.
