Yashasvi Jaiswal, who recently announced a move to Goa for the 2025/26 season, now wants to stay with Mumbai. The young opener has emailed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) asking them to cancel the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) previously given to him.

Jaiswal explained his change of mind was due to family plans related to moving to Goa being put on hold. He clarified that the NOC hasn’t been sent to either the BCCI or Goa Cricket Association. He has now requested to continue representing Mumbai for the upcoming season.

“Yes, he has mailed us saying he wants to stay with the Mumbai team. His letter will be discussed at the next Apex Council meeting within 15 days,” said MCA secretary Ajinkya Hadap.

Jaiswal, 23, has had a strong domestic record since debuting for Mumbai in 2019. He has played 36 first-class games, scoring 3,712 runs at an average of 60.85. In the 2021/22 Ranji season, he scored three hundreds in a row as Mumbai reached the final.

In List A cricket, he has 1,526 runs in 33 matches, with an average of 52.62 and one double century. In IPL 2025, he made 473 runs in 12 games for Rajasthan Royals, with an average of 43 and a strike-rate of 154.57, hitting five fifties.

MCA is yet to take a final call on his request but may soon approve his return. Jaiswal’s potential comeback is expected to boost Mumbai's batting strength in the coming season.
