Jaipur Patriots seek third straight UTT victory
Ahmedabad
Jaipur Patriots will aim for their third straight win in Ultimate Table Tennis Season 6 as they face Ahmedabad SG Pipers on Saturday. U Mumba TT, the table-toppers, will later take on Stanley’s Chennai Lions, who are yet to register a win this season.
Jaipur enters with strong momentum. Sreeja Akula is unbeaten this season, including a big win over world No. 12 Bernadette Szocs. Her forehand has one of the highest success rates in the league. Kanak Jha from the USA has also hit form with two wins and could face Ricardo Walther in a much-anticipated clash. Jeet Chandra and Britt Eerland got their first wins recently, strengthening Jaipur’s core.
Ahmedabad SG Pipers come in after securing their first victory. Walther has won two matches in a row and performs well in doubles with Ayhika Mukherjee, who earned her first singles win. Snehit Suravajjula and Giorgia Piccolin are still chasing their first wins.
Later, U Mumba TT will try to recover from their first defeat. Szocs and Bardet are still among the league’s top players. Szocs leads in forehand and serve success, and her mixed doubles with Akash Pal has been reliable.
Chennai Lions, despite losing all three ties, are fourth in the standings due to the unique scoring format. Fan Siqi has been brilliant, winning eight of nine games. Captain Kirill Gerassimenko finally earned his first win and might face Bardet in a key matchup.
Two exciting matches promise thrilling action and shifting rankings.
