IPL 2025: MI host RCB seeking turnaround
Mumbai
Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to host Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) today (Monday) at the Wankhede Stadium in match 20 of IPL 2025. MI, who have won just one out of four games, aim to revive their form, while RCB, with two wins in three games, look to bounce back from a recent loss to Gujarat Titans.
MI’s batting woes continue, with only Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton notching fifties. Their top and middle orders lack consistency. Rohit Sharma’s fitness remains uncertain after he missed the last game due to a knee injury, and his return could be crucial. On the brighter side, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has rejoined the squad, though his match fitness is still unconfirmed.
RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, opened their campaign with strong wins over KKR and CSK but faltered against GT. Their bowling, powered by Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, has been impressive, although their spinners have yet to shine.
Historically, MI holds the upper hand with 19 wins in 33 matches against RCB. In the current points table, MI sit eighth, while RCB hold second place.
