Indian Arrows Juniors win 8-0 in IWL
Bengaluru
Indian Arrows Women Juniors crushed Casa Barwani FC 8-0 in their last Group B match of the 2024–25 Indian Women’s League at Padukone Dravid CSE Ground on Wednesday. The Arrows were already ahead 5-0 by half-time.
Midfielder Anushka Kumari starred with a brilliant hat-trick (28’, 29’, 49’) and two assists. Divyani Linda (13’), Shveta Rani (17’), Abhista Basnett (23’), Gurleen Kaur (68’), and Gurnaz Kaur (88’) also scored for the Arrows in the one-sided game.
With this big win, Indian Arrows now have nine points from four matches and currently top Group B. Their place in the Final Round depends on the outcome of the Inter Kashi vs Roots FC match. If Inter Kashi fails to win, the Arrows will seal their spot in the next round.
The match started with Divyani scoring after a strong team attack. Her first shot hit the post, but she easily tapped in the rebound. Captain Shveta scored next, converting a clever cut-back from Anushka. Abhista added the third by rounding off her marker.
Anushka then took over the match. Her first two goals came in quick succession — one a close-range finish, and another a classy dribble past the goalkeeper. She completed her hat-trick by turning in a corner at the far post.
Later, Anushka assisted Gurleen for the seventh goal. Her substitute, Gurnaz, sealed the match with a sharp finish near the post.
Indian Arrows ended their group stage in style, now awaiting final confirmation of their qualification.
