Indian aerobic gymnastics team heads to Tokyo World Cup

India’s top aerobic gymnasts have departed for Tokyo to participate in the prestigious Suzuki Aerobics Gymnastics World Cup 2025, taking place from April 25 to 27. The event, hosted in partnership with the Federation International de Gymnastics (FIG), will feature athletes from 19 nations.

The Indian squad includes Arya Shah (Maharashtra), Rudraksha Khanna (Jammu & Kashmir), Mutum Romins (Manipur), Meet Kosambia (Gujarat), Rhea Sharma (Jammu & Kashmir), and Ariha Pangambam (Manipur). These athletes will compete across sub-junior, junior, and senior categories.

Coaches Shashank Bidiwal and SP Singh, along with judges Dr. Makarand Joshi and Yamanam Ranjan, are part of the official delegation. Dr. Joshi, recognized as India’s most experienced international judge, returns for his third consecutive World Cup.

Maruti Suzuki India Pvt. Ltd. is sponsoring the team for the third year. Before their departure, the squad was congratulated by Gymnastics Federation of India President Sudhir Mittal, officials from Maruti Suzuki, and sports department dignitaries.

This year’s event promises top-tier performances, especially from Japanese champions Riri Kitazume and Mizuki Saito, competing on home soil. The Indian team aims to make a strong impression on the global stage, building on growing recognition for the sport in the country.
