India Women’s hockey prepares for key FIH matches

The Indian Women’s Hockey Team is gearing up for the second and final leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25, set to compete against Australia, Argentina, Belgium, and China in Europe. Currently ranked sixth with 9 points, the team will start with matches against Australia on June 14 and 15, followed by games against Argentina on June 17 and 18 at London’s Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre.
Indian captain Salima Tete expressed confidence ahead of the European leg, saying, Our aim is to play well and defeat teams ranked above us in this leg of the FIH Pro League. We have been reviewing our performances closely to improve our weaknesses and build on our strengths as we prepare for these matches.
After London, the team will travel to Antwerp to face Belgium on June 21 and 22, before concluding the league in Berlin with two matches against China on June 28 and 29.
Meanwhile, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team, currently ranked fifth with 15 points, is preparing to face Australia in Antwerp on June 14 and 15. Team captain Harmanpreet Singh emphasized the importance of these matches, saying, A win against Australia will be critical for us to gain crucial points and build momentum. We’ve had some close games recently, and we are eager to secure victories to improve our standing and contend for a top-three finish.
Both teams are focused on delivering strong performances as they look to climb the rankings and make an impact in the prestigious international tournament.
