India finished at the top of the medal tally in the Asian Under-15 Boxing Championships with an impressive haul of 25 medals, including 11 golds. The Indian girls dominated the event by winning 10 gold medals and four bronzes, triumphing in every final they entered.
Komal (30–33 kg) kicked off the finals with a narrow 3:2 win over Kazakhstan’s Aiaru Onggarbek. Khushi Ahlawat (35 kg) and Tamanna (37 kg) followed with strong wins, the latter sealing victory in round two. Other gold medal winners included Svi, Milky Meinam, Princi, Navya, Sunaina, Trushana Mohite, and Vanshika, all winning by unanimous decisions.
BFI Interim Committee President Ajay Singh praised the young champions, calling them "future Olympic champions" and celebrating the emotional moment of hearing the national anthem 11 times.
Among the boys, Sanskar Vinod (35 kg) secured India’s only gold by defeating Uzbekistan’s Sarmat Shokarimov 5:0. Rudraksh Singh Khaidem (46 kg), Abhijeet (61 kg), and Lakshay Phogat (64 kg) each settled for silver after losing in their respective finals. Seven other male boxers had already claimed bronze earlier.
India entered the final day with 43 assured medals—25 in U-15 and 18 in U-17. The U-17 finals are scheduled next, where seven more Indian boxers aim to continue the country’s winning momentum.
India’s powerful showing in the U-15 division, especially among girls, highlighted the nation’s growing strength in youth boxing on the continental stage.
