India to host ISSF Junior World Cup 2025
New Delhi
India has been awarded the hosting rights for the ISSF Junior World Cup 2025, a major international competition featuring rifle, pistol, and shotgun events, NRAI said on Saturday. This marks the third prominent International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) tournament in India recently, following the senior World Cup in Bhopal (2023) and the World Cup Final earlier this year.
The tournament dates are yet to be finalized, with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) considering slots in September-October or late October-early November.
"We are thrilled with this confirmation from the ISSF. It is a testament to India's exceptional hosting standards and our contribution to global shooting," said Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, NRAI President.
The ISSF praised India's dedication to the sport during its recent executive committee meeting in Rome. NRAI Secretary General Sultan Singh added, "Hosting the world's future shooting champions will boost grassroots development in India."
This event will be India's ninth top-tier shooting championship in the past decade, solidifying its reputation as a leading destination for the sport. Previous tournaments include two continental championships and six ISSF events, including four senior World Cups.
"The Junior World Cup is an exciting opportunity to showcase India's capabilities and inspire the next generation of shooters," said an NRAI official.
India continues to play a crucial role in nurturing global shooting talent while elevating its own presence in international sports.
