India is all set to witness a revolutionary step in sports with the launch of the Shooting League of India (SLI), the country’s first professional, franchise-based shooting league. Backed by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) and the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the league will debut from November 20 to December 2, 2025.

Aiming to transform Olympic-level shooting into a spectator-friendly sport, SLI will feature mixed-team events across Olympic disciplines such as 10m Air Pistol, 10m Air Rifle, Trap, Skeet, and 50m Rifle 3 Positions. Between six to eight city-based teams, comprising Indian and international stars, will compete in a fast-paced format designed for both performance and audience engagement.

Each team will have 12 shooters—six men and six women—including U-21 talents and international players, ensuring global exposure and youth development. The schedule allows players to compete on just 3-4 days across 11 days, maintaining peak performance and intensity.

The SLI’s auction-based team selection will promote transparency and gender equity. Players will receive structured contracts, with tournament fees ranging from €5,000 to €10,000, and all expenses covered, offering a rare blend of financial security and career growth.

Though not an official ISSF event, SLI has received ISSF-approved dates and global attention. With influencer marketing, digital broadcasting, and virtual shooting innovations, the league is poised to reach global youth audiences. The SLI is not just about medals; it’s about redefining shooting as an accessible, exciting, and lucrative sport, inspiring a new generation of Indian champions.
