Hockey India has announced a 40-member core group for the senior women’s national coaching camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) facility. The camp, which began on March 23 with 65 players, has now been trimmed based on recent performances.

Of the 40 selected, 28 players retained their spots from the previous core group, while 12 new players were chosen based on their strong performances in the 15th Senior Women’s National Championship and the initial training camp.

Chief coach Harendra Singh expressed confidence in the selected players, saying, “The selectors have done a great job shortlisting the best talent. I’m excited to see how these young players perform and grow in the camp.”

In the goalkeeping department

Four players—Savita, Bichu Devi Kharibam, Bansari Solanki, and Madhuri Kindo—retained their places, while Samiksha Saxena from Assam Hockey joined the group.

The defense lineup includes eight retained players, such as Mahima Chaudhary and Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam, along with new additions Anjna Dungdung and Suman Devi Thoudam.

In midfield

Experienced players like Salima Tete and Sharmila Devi continue in the squad, joined by newcomers Mahima Tete, Albela Rani Toppo, Sujata Kujur, and Pooja Yadav.

Among the forwards

Deepika Soreng, Navneet Kaur, and Sangita Kumari retained their spots, while five new players, including Dipimonika Toppo and Hritika Singh, were added.

The selected players will train in Bengaluru as they prepare for upcoming international competitions.
