Gurugram boy wins gold at Karate Championship

Anarghya Abhishek Panchawatkar, a young karateka from Gurugram, brought pride to his district and state by winning a gold medal at the 11th Budokan International Karate Championship held in Dubai. On his return, he was welcomed and felicitated in Gurugram. Anarghya secured the gold medal in the kumite category and a bronze in kata, showing his strong skills in both areas of karate. Over 900 participants from 17 countries competed in the event, which featured various age and weight categories. Anarghya’s journey to the international event involved several tough tests and selection rounds. Shihan Sunil Saini, Anarghya's head coach, praised his hard work, saying that Anarghya’s exceptional talent earned him a place in the prestigious championship. His gold medal in kumite filled the Indian team with pride, and his bronze in kata proved his versatility, Saini said. The success is attributed to Anarghya’s strong support system, including his coaches, Sensei Vikram Tihal and Shihan Sunil Saini, who provided expert training. The Sports Shitokai Karate Federation, India, also celebrated his achievements. Saini emphasized how Anarghya’s victory highlights India’s growing martial arts talent. Anarghya’s dedication and coaching have led to this success. His achievements are an inspiration for young athletes, he added.
