The 30th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle will be held across 6,000 locations in India on July 6. More than 50,000 people are expected to join the event to promote fitness and help create a pollution-free and obesity-free India.

Started in December 2024 by Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, this cycling event has become a weekly tradition with strong support from people across the country. Each week, over 50,000 individuals participate, showing the growing interest in healthy lifestyles.

This Sunday, the main event will begin at 7 a.m. from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. Cyclists will ride around India Gate C Hexagon, reach Vijay Chowk on Kartavya Path, and then return to the stadium.

Mandaviya encouraged everyone to join and focus on activities like cycling and yoga to stay fit and reduce pollution. This time, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) will lead the event to connect with local communities. India has around 5-6 lakh RWAs that help spread awareness about health and fitness.

Cycling drives will also take place in all State and Union Territory capitals, at SAI Regional Centres, National Centres of Excellence, and Khelo India Centres. People from different age groups will participate, showing that fitness is for everyone.

In past editions, participants included army soldiers, police forces, tax officers, sports stars like Lovlina Borgohain and Rani Rampal, and celebrities such as Rahul Bose and Gul Panag.

This Sunday’s event aims to inspire even more people to choose an active, healthy life and help make India fitter and greener.
