Ferrari has extended Team Principal Fred Vasseur’s contract with a new multi-year deal, affirming their confidence in his leadership. Vasseur, who joined the team in 2023 after leaving Sauber, has been credited with bringing greater stability and performance to Ferrari. Under his guidance, the team narrowly missed the 2023 Constructors’ Championship, finishing just 14 points behind McLaren. Though the gap has widened in 2025, with Ferrari 268 points behind McLaren at the summer break, the team remains in second place—still ahead of powerhouses like Mercedes and Red Bull.

The contract renewal was announced just before the Hungarian Grand Prix, countering recent rumors in the Italian press that Vasseur could be replaced—rumors he had strongly dismissed as “hurtful and disrespectful.” Ferrari’s leadership emphasized that Vasseur embodies the team’s core values: resilience under pressure, continuous innovation, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said the renewal reflects shared trust and common goals, stressing the importance of unity and focus to uphold Ferrari’s elite standards. Vasseur welcomed the decision, calling it a motivating challenge. “We’ve laid a strong foundation,” he said. “Now we must continue pushing forward with commitment and determination.”
