Ellyse Perry returns to NSW cricket
New Delhi
Star all-rounder Ellyse Perry is returning to New South Wales (NSW) after six years with Victoria in domestic cricket. During her time with Victoria, Perry played just 20 matches due to international duties but still scored 1,052 runs at an impressive average of 75.14 and took 13 wickets.
She now rejoins NSW, the current Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) champions, though she will miss the early part of next season because of the ODI World Cup. Perry may return in January before Australia's series against India.
While playing for Victoria, Perry continued to represent the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), keeping her connection with Cricket NSW.
Perry said she cherished her time in Melbourne but looks forward to being closer to family and friends in Sydney. Cricket NSW’s Leah Poulton welcomed her back, calling her a role model and great team asset.
This July, Perry will play in England for Hampshire and then join Birmingham Phoenix for The Hundred in August.
