Despite losing six out of eight matches in the ongoing IPL season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan said the franchise is not panicking. Speaking to PTI, he emphasized CSK’s philosophy of staying calm during difficult times, stating, “We never press the panic button. It’s just a game.”

The five-time champions are currently at the bottom of the table, having suffered five straight defeats. Their batting lineup has underperformed, and the absence of regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad due to injury has added to their woes.

Former captain MS Dhoni has returned to lead the team in Gaikwad’s absence. However, head coach Stephen Fleming reminded fans that Dhoni “doesn’t have a magic wand.” Viswanathan added, “The focus is on team improvement, not individual miracles. We back our team through every phase.”

CSK now faces a must-win situation in their remaining six matches to stay in contention. Dhoni has reportedly begun planning for IPL 2026, looking beyond the current challenges.

As Viswanathan reiterated, “We don’t interfere with the team management. We believe in our players and never criticize them. All we want is to see them play well.”
