Colin Munro has broken the record for the most fifty-plus scores in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history. The former New Zealand and current Islamabad United batter surpassed South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw with a blistering 59* off 42 balls against Lahore Qalandars.

Munro’s latest knock marked his 13th fifty-plus score in just 48 PSL matches, placing him at the top of the all-time list. He was previously tied with Rossouw on 12. Former teammates Luke Ronchi and Jason Roy follow with 10 such scores.

Despite a valiant 66 off 38 balls by Lahore’s Abdullah Shafique, Islamabad dominated the match. Chasing 139, Islamabad secured an eight-wicket victory, thanks to Munro and Salman Ali Agha, who added an unbeaten 41.

With the ball, Jason Holder starred for Islamabad, claiming 4 wickets for 26 runs. Sikandar Raza’s 23 provided brief support to Shafique, but the rest of Lahore’s batting lineup struggled.

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam still leads the overall fifty-plus tally in PSL with 35. But Munro’s form sets a strong tone for Islamabad United’s title defence in Season 10.

Shafique’s performance offered a silver lining for Lahore, marking a return to form after recent struggles for Pakistan. Munro, meanwhile, showed he remains a force in T20 cricket, helping his side start the season with a commanding win.
