The first-ever Shooting League of India (SLI) has already created excitement before its debut. Over 400 shooters from 24 countries have signed up to take part in this new league, which is being organized by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). The number of athletes is still increasing, and registration remains open until mid-July.

Shooters from India, Russia, Iran, USA, UK, Australia, Germany, and several other countries will participate. The aim of this league is to give a world-class platform to shooters and encourage healthy competition. According to NRAI president Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, the early response shows that people believe in the league’s vision. He added that this will inspire many young athletes across India.

The first season of the Shooting League of India will happen between November 20 and December 2. Events will include mixed team matches in pistol (10m and 25m), rifle (10m and 50m three positions), and shotgun (Trap and Skeet).

At least six teams will compete. These will be divided into two pools for the league stage. Players will be chosen into four groups: Elite Champions, World Elite, National Champions, and Junior & Youth Champions. This system ensures a balanced mix of experienced and young talent.

NRAI first announced the idea of the SLI in November last year, after India's strong performance in the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. The league hopes to take the sport to new heights in India and beyond.
