Big win in National Hockey Championship

The fifth day of the 15th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2025 saw exciting matches across both divisions, with Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Manipur teams claiming victories.
In the first Division 'B' match of the day, Telangana Hockey defeated Goans Hockey 5-1. Surya Prakash Potluri (18'), Aiyappa PR (21'), Peddinti Neeraj Kumar (23'), Rohit Singh (28') and Raju Talla (29') scored one goal each for Telangana. Goans Hockey managed a lone goal by Thrishul Ganapathi H (19'). Telangana now holds second place in Pool A with two wins from three games.
Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey team delivered a dominant 6-0 win over Hockey Mizoram. Goals were scored by Deepak Yadav (4'), S Mohammed Yaseen (6'), Komal Singh (15'), Vijay Yadav (36'), Captain Arvind Yadav (39') and Sajal Saxena (44'), moving them to third place in Pool B.
In Division 'A', Hockey Madhya Pradesh edged past the Association of Odisha 3-2. Ali Ahmad (28', 42') netted twice, and Mohammad Zaid Khan (32') added another. Odisha's Captain Amit Rohidas (17') and Nilam Sanjeep Xess (57') responded with one goal each.
Manipur Hockey won a close contest against Le Puducherry Hockey 4-3. Cyril Lugun’s hat-trick (14', 15', 28') and Thokchom Kingson Singh’s late goal (51') secured the win, despite goals from Manikandan M (6'), Rajat Minz (43'), and P Mahendran (60') for Puducherry.
Later in the day, Hockey Haryana will face Hockey Jharkhand, while Uttar Pradesh will take on Hockey Bengal.
