The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a ₹58 crore cash reward for the Indian cricket team after their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory. The reward will be shared among players, coaching staff, and selectors.
India secured their third Champions Trophy title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final on March 9. This was India’s second ICC trophy in nine months, following their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph over South Africa.
BCCI President Roger Binny praised the achievement, stating, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special. This reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. Our cricketing ecosystem is stronger than ever.”
India dominated the tournament, securing four victories. They started with a six-wicket win against Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket triumph over Pakistan. A 44-run victory against New Zealand ensured their semifinal berth, where they edged past Australia by four wickets to reach the final.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia added, “This victory cements India’s position as the world’s top white-ball team. The players’ dedication and execution have set a new benchmark for Indian cricket.”
India also became the first nation to win the Champions Trophy three times in the tournament’s history. BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla lauded the players, saying, “Their success is an inspiration to young cricketers. Indian cricket is built on skill, mental toughness, and a winning mentality.”
