Vietnam’s Vietjet Deepens India Ties with Bengaluru Route
By Veena
Vietjet, Vietnam’s leading private airline, is strengthening air connectivity between India and Vietnam, making travel between the two vibrant countries more convenient than ever. With 10 direct routes now in operation, including newly launched services to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, travelers can seamlessly explore Vietnam’s cultural charm or India’s rich heritage with greater ease and affordability.
Vietjet has rapidly transformed into a dominant force in Asia’s aviation sector. Since its first commercial flight in 2011, the carrier has flown over 230 million passengers, redefining low-cost air travel through innovation, efficiency, and continuous expansion.
Continuing to expand its global flight network, Vietjet launched two new direct routes connecting Vietnam with Bengaluru and Hyderabad, two of India’s major metropolitan hubs. The new services offer greater convenience and travel options for both residents and international tourists.
Operates Thrice a Week
The Ho Chi Minh City–Bengaluru route commenced on March 19, with three round-trip flights operating weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The flight departs from Ho Chi Minh City at 7:10 PM and arrives in Bengaluru at 10:30 PM. The return flight leaves Bengaluru at 11:30 PM and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:55 AM the following day. This new air service is also expected to boost economic relations between the two countries.
In celebration of the newly launched routes, promotional tickets can be booked on Vietjet’s official website (www.vietjetair.com) and the Vietjet Air mobile app for travel between February 10 and September 30, 2025. Additionally, passengers can enjoy up to 20% off Business and SkyBoss fares on the 20th of every month (*), offering even more value and flexibility.
Vietjet Vice President, Mr. Do Xuan Quang, said: “India is one of Vietjet’s key markets, and we are pleased to launch two direct routes connecting Hyderabad and Bengaluru with Ho Chi Minh City. With the strategic locations of Hyderabad and Bengaluru, these new routes will provide convenience for travelers, while also promoting cultural, tourism, and economic exchanges between the two countries and regions. Beyond offering affordable flights, Vietjet takes pride in its extensive network, allowing Indian travelers seamless access to top destinations across the Asia-Pacific via Vietnam.”
With the addition of these routes, Vietjet now operates a total of 10 direct services between Vietnam and India, connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang to major Indian cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kochi, which are key centers of commerce, culture, politics, and technology.
A Modern, Expanding Fleet
As of April 2025, Vietjet boasts a modern fleet of 117 aircraft, including Airbus A320s, A321s, and A330s. With an eye on future growth, it has placed orders for approximately 400 more planes from top manufacturers, reinforcing its long-term commitment to international expansion.
The airline leads the domestic air travel market in Vietnam, operating over 40 routes. Internationally, it has built a vast network of 100+ routes, connecting Vietnam with countries across Asia-Pacific — including India, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
Every Vietjet flight is designed to be a joyful and inspiring experience aboard a new, modern, and fuel-efficient fleet. Passengers are treated to heartwarming service by dedicated flight crews, ensuring comfort from takeoff to landing. The onboard dining experience is another highlight, offering a diverse menu of Vietnamese, Indian, and international favorites. Signature dishes include Pho Thin (Hanoi-style beef noodle soup), Vietnamese Banh Mi, chicken curry with basmati rice, and malai kofta with Paratha, all carefully prepared to delight global tastes.

With 44 weekly round-trip flights, Vietjet is the leading carrier between India and Vietnam.
