Yogi govt prepares for Mauni Amavasya Amrit Snan

After successfully completing Paush Purnima and Makar Sankranti, the Yogi Adityanath government is now fully focused on preparations for the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya, scheduled for January 29. On Thursday, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar visited the Mahakumbh area to review arrangements. They held a meeting at the ICC auditorium to ensure everything is in place.
Chief Secretary Singh praised the arrangements made for previous festivals but emphasized the need for improvements, particularly in light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anticipated visit and a possible cabinet meeting. He instructed sector magistrates, police, and officers to be present across all sectors and ensure all preparations are completed on time.
Singh also addressed the need for better signage at railway stations, improved train operations, and better communication of train schedules. He highlighted the importance of smooth telecom services and instructed the Transport Department to arrange extra buses, especially to Ayodhya.
Regarding safety, Singh directed that sturdy iron railings be installed on pontoon bridges and additional signage be put up. He also ensured that the necessary number of toilets would be available at Sangam Nose and in VIP areas. Lastly, Singh and DGP Kumar reviewed security arrangements and stressed a strong police presence throughout the event.
