Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y S Sharmila on Friday reiterated that Special Category Status (SCS) is the only solution to the state's problems. She accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of failing to deliver on his election promises and criticized him for focusing on visions and growth rates instead of addressing the state's real issues.

Sharmila pointed out that SCS is crucial for the state’s development, securing funds, creating jobs, and establishing industries. In a post on 'X', she stated, "Though the people trusted you and voted you to power, you have neglected your promises, instead focusing on visions and growth rates."

Her comments came after Naidu's recent statements on his SwarnaAndhra2047 Vision and the target of a 15% annual growth rate. She reminded the CM of his "Super Six" promises, which included pensions, job creation, free bus travel for women, and financial support for farmers and students. Sharmila criticized Naidu for now claiming that these promises can only be implemented if the state's income rises.

She also questioned Naidu's ability to fulfill these promises, given the state’s Rs 10 lakh crore debt and the estimated Rs 2 lakh crore annual cost of the "Super Six" schemes. Additionally, Sharmila questioned Naidu’s continued support for the BJP at the Centre, given the lack of support for the state.
