Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized the crucial role of farmers in India’s development, stating that their contribution to the nation’s progress cannot be undermined. Speaking at the Akhil Mewar Region Jat Mahasabha in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, on Sunday, he highlighted the economic and political strength of farmers.

“When the financial condition of farmers improves, the country’s overall situation improves. Farmers are the true providers; they should not rely on others for help,” Dhankhar said. He added that today’s governance acknowledges and respects farmers’ power. Reflecting on the Jat reservation movement from 25 years ago, he praised the community’s efforts in advancing social justice. He also urged farmers to actively engage with the country’s 730 agricultural science centers, which offer valuable resources and guidance.

“Don’t hesitate—visit these centers and ask, ‘What services can you offer us?’ Learn about new technologies and government policies,” he advised. Dhankhar encouraged the younger generation to participate in agricultural trade. “Agriculture is the world’s most valuable business. Why aren’t farmers actively involved in trading their own produce? Our youth is talented and should step into this space,” he said. He stressed the importance of cooperatives, agribusiness, and modern farming techniques for long-term financial stability. By adopting innovation and taking charge of their trade, farmers can strengthen both their economic standing and India’s agricultural future, he concluded.
