On Wednesday, US Vice-President J.D. Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha and their three children, visited the Taj Mahal in Agra. After the visit, Vance wrote in the visitor’s diary, calling the monument amazing and a testament to true love, human ingenuity, and a tribute to India.

The Vance family arrived from Jaipur, where they were warmly welcomed at the Agra airport by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Adityanath posted a message on social media, greeting the family to Uttar Pradesh, a region known for its culture and spiritual legacy.

The Vance family, on a four-day visit to India, was greeted by hundreds of schoolchildren waving both the US and Indian flags as they made their way to the Taj Mahal. The route was adorned with colorful rangolis, sand art, and festive decorations, along with large hoardings welcoming them.

Extensive security measures were in place, with US security personnel arriving three days earlier and a zero-traffic zone established along the 12-km stretch from the airport to the monument.

Prior to their visit to Agra, the Vance family explored the Akshardham Temple in Delhi and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After spending an hour at the Taj Mahal, the Vance family returned to the airport.
