UP tableau wins top prize, JK Rifles best contingent

At the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Uttar Pradesh's tableau, which highlighted the ongoing Maha Kumbh, was awarded first prize, while the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles marching contingent was recognized as the best among the three services.

Tripura's tableau, themed Eternal Reverence, secured the second prize, while Andhra Pradesh's tableau, showcasing eco-friendly wooden toys, earned the third spot.

Among the central ministries and departments, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs presented the best tableau. The Delhi Police team was awarded the best marching contingent among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and auxiliary forces.

The Defence Ministry mentioned that three panels of judges were formed to evaluate the performances of the security forces' marching contingents and the tableaux from various states, union territories, and ministries.

An online poll on the MyGov portal ran from January 26 to 28, allowing citizens to vote for their favorite tableau and marching contingent in the 'Popular Choice' category. Gujarat's tableau, Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas, topped the poll, followed by Uttar Pradesh's Mahakumbh 2025 and Uttarakhand's Cultural Heritage and Adventure Sports. The best marching contingent in the poll was the Signals team, while the CRPF led among the CAPFs. The Ministry of Women and Child Development's tableau won the popular vote among central ministries.
