The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the allotment of eight acres of land in Ayodhya to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for setting up a National Security Guard (NSG) hub on a 99-year lease. The decision, taken during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to enhance security in the temple city and nearby sensitive areas.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said the land, located in the Gaura Barik Cantonment area of Ayodhya Sadar tehsil, will be given free of cost with specific conditions, as a one-time exception. This move reflects the state’s commitment to building strong security infrastructure in Ayodhya.

The NSG hub is expected to boost the region’s rapid response capability, especially in areas with high footfall of domestic and international pilgrims. Officials noted that the location was chosen for its strategic advantage in case of emergencies.
