UP cabinet thanks PM Modi, Indian Armed Forces operation
Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday that the state cabinet has passed a resolution to congratulate the Indian Armed Forces and express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the successful completion of ‘Operation Sindoor’. Sharing this on X, CM Yogi said, “In today’s Cabinet meeting, we passed a resolution thanking Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor and felicitating the Indian Armed Forces.”
He added that the operation is a clear example of the immense bravery, strong commitment, and deep dedication of the Indian Armed Forces towards their duty. “Operation Sindoor reflects our strength, unity, and the collective determination of 140 crore Indians to protect the nation. Jai Hind.” the Chief Minister said.
Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of May 7 and targeted nine terror sites located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Over 100 terrorists were eliminated during the operation. This military action was a direct response to the brutal terror attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians, including a Nepali national, lost their lives.
On May 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Operation Sindoor as a landmark achievement in India’s fight against terrorism. He explained that it sets a new benchmark and establishes a new normal in how India deals with terrorism. Modi also referenced earlier successful operations, including the 2016 surgical strike along the Line of Control and the 2019 air strike on terror camps in Pakistan. He emphasised that following those actions, Operation Sindoor now stands as India’s official policy in fighting terrorism.
